Raymond & Hattie May, Christmas 2018

An almost 20-year resident of Washington, D.C., Raymond Boney has enjoyed a phenomenally-rewarding career in event planning and public relations. Most recently, he served his alma mater, Texas A&M University, as the Director of University Events.

Prior to returning to Texas A&M in 2016, Raymond was Principal/Owner of Boney Events, a boutique event planning consultancy in Washington, D.C., where he planned events for some of the city’s most revered cultural and academic institutions, corporations and individuals. With a diverse clientele that included PNC Bank, the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and the Black McDonald’s Owners Association (BMOA), Raymond has successfully planned and executed events for audiences ranging from 10 to more than 7,000 attendees. His planning expertise includes fundraising galas, benefit concerts, fashion shows, academic symposia, weddings, film screenings and more.

Earlier in his career, Raymond was instrumental in planning over 100 annual events hosted within The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts by multi-national corporations, non-profits and foreign governments. He also contributed to the planning of signature Kennedy Center events including the National Symphony Orchestra Ball, the Kennedy Center Spring Gala, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Mark Twain Prize for Humor.

Raymond has also worked for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Inc., where he planned fundraising events supporting the CBC Spouses’ Annual Scholarship Fund to help deserving students in member congressional districts.

Raymond is a native of Bryan, Texas.
